Buyers in the USA, the UK and Europe look to India for a second source next to China or a local moulder, and for one supplier that owns the whole job. GPI designs the mould, builds it in its own tool room, moulds the parts and assembles them, so one quote and one contact cover every stage.
Product design, DFM review, mould design and making, injection moulding and complete assemblies under one roof in Delhi.
Moulds (molds, tools) in P-20, Stavax and Orvar Supreme / H-13 steel, with hot runners, multiple cavities and sliders. GPI can maintain customer moulds over the programme life.
PA 66 is moulded regularly, along with PBT, POM, PC, PPS, PES and glass-filled grades for parts that carry load or heat.
ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified, RoHS-compliant products, and process control by Scientific Moulding.
GPI was the first automatic injection moulding plant in Delhi and has developed about 1,200 products for around 100 clients. Most of the work is automotive, with lighting and industrial customers too, and some customers use GPI as the sole supplier of critical components. Names on GPI's client list include Mahle, Honda, UNO Minda, Exide, Maruti Suzuki, Royal Enfield, Tata and HD Switch (USA). See the injection moulding services page for the full capability list.

Comparing costs? The injection mould cost guide explains what drives the price of a mould.
An export order follows six steps, from your drawing to parts on a ship. You see and approve samples before any mass production, and each stage has a date in the quotation, so you can plan stock and launch dates in your own market.
Email a 2D drawing and 3D model (STEP or IGES), material, quantities and destination. Files are kept confidential.
Engineers check wall thickness, draft, gates, undercuts and parting line, then quote mould cost, part price and lead time separately. See design and prototyping.
The mould is designed and machined in GPI's tool room: about 45 days to first samples, or 15-20 days on Express Mould. More on injection mould making.
The mould runs on GPI's own machines with the process set by Scientific Moulding. Samples are measured against your drawing and sent for your approval.
Production starts after approval, with settings locked to the approved sample and parts inspected for dimensions, appearance and fit.
Parts are packed and handed over on the Incoterm agreed in the quote, by sea or air.
Agree four things before the first order: the Incoterm, the duty your customs broker expects, the compliance documents you need, and the mould ownership terms. Put them in the RFQ so quotes compare like with like.
| Incoterm | Who books the main freight | Where risk passes to the buyer |
|---|---|---|
| EXW (Ex Works) | Buyer | At the seller's premises |
| FOB (Free on Board) | Buyer | When goods are on board the ship at the Indian port |
| CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) | Seller, with insurance | On board at the Indian port, although the seller pays freight to your port |
| DAP (Delivered at Place) | Seller | At your named place, ready for unloading; buyer pays import duty |
Simplified summary. The official rules are published by the International Chamber of Commerce.
The rate depends on the tariff code and the country. US duties on Indian goods have changed several times since 2025, so check the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule or the EU's Access2Markets tool, or ask your broker.
GPI's products are RoHS compliant. List any other declarations you need in the RFQ, and GPI confirms what it can provide before quoting.
Ownership, storage, maintenance and transfer of the mould are agreed in writing at the quote stage. Drawings and 3D files stay confidential.

Straight answers to the questions buyers in the USA, the UK and Europe ask before their first order.
Yes. GPI's RoHS-compliant plastic parts are exported to about 55 countries, including Europe and America. Moulds are designed and built in GPI's own tool room in Delhi, parts are moulded on 15 in-house machines from 80 to 700 tonnes, and the quality system is certified to ISO 9001:2015.
For a new mould, GPI typically delivers first samples in about 45 days, depending on part size, cavities, sliders and surface finish. If you need it sooner, the Express Mould offer builds a mould that usually takes about 2 months in 15 to 20 days, and GPI pays a penalty if it delivers late. Freight time is added after you approve the samples.
GPI's minimum order quantity is 2,000 pieces per part. Give the first order and the expected annual volume in your RFQ, so the mould and the number of cavities can be sized correctly.
Mould ownership should be agreed in writing before work starts. GPI agrees with you at the quote stage who owns the mould and its design, where it is stored, who pays for its care and how it can be moved. The quote shows the mould cost separately from the part price.
Yes. GPI keeps your ideas, drawings and 3D files confidential. Send a 2D drawing or 3D model (STEP or IGES preferred) to sales@generalplastic.in for a quote.
GPI regularly moulds PA 66, and also PA 6, PA 4.6, PPS, PES, PBT, POM, PC, alloys, TPU and TPE, including glass-filled grades. Critical features are held to plus or minus 0.1 mm, with general dimensions to DIN 16742. Shot weight ranges from 1 g to 4 kg.
GPI tests every new mould on its own machines, sets the process with Scientific Moulding and measures the samples against your drawing. You approve the samples before mass production starts, and the process settings are locked to the approved sample. Parts are checked for dimensions, appearance and fit before dispatch.
It depends on who you want to manage the freight. Under EXW or FOB you or your forwarder book the main freight; under CIF or DAP the seller carries more of the journey. Name the Incoterm and the destination port or address in your RFQ, so the quote is prepared on that basis.
Usually yes. The rate depends on the part's tariff code and the country it enters. US duties on goods from India have changed several times since 2025, so check the current rate in the US HTS or the EU tariff database, or ask your customs broker, before you compare quotes.
Send your drawing for a quote with mould cost, part price and lead time shown separately. GPI has made moulds and plastic parts in Delhi since 1968.
